EAT! Vancouver Food and Cooking Festival: Chicha Peruvian

EAT!Vancouver is THE Food and Cooking Festival in Vancouver. EAT!Vancouver offers a variety of events, from Dinner Series, Expert Classes, and Signature Events: EAT!Harvest and EAT!Pastry. It’s the perfect culinary festival to experience the best of modern, and vibrant cuisine that Vancouver’s top chefs have to offer. This 15th season offers diverse fusion cuisine, especially in the dinner series. Chicha Restaurant hosts Whistler’s Isabel Chung from Chateau Whistler was one of the series that grabbed my attention, since Chicha is a very well known Peruvian restaurant within the Latin American community in Vancouver.

Fusion Cuisine

Chicha Restaurant is a Peruvian restaurant, where Shelome Bouvette, owner and executive chef  fuses Peruvian flavours with fresh, local Westcoast ingredients to create modern Peruvian cuisine full of vibrancy and ethnicity that is reflective of the diverse culinary scene in Vancouver. Shelome is a culinary veteran, known for the modern Peruvian flavours she’s introduced to the city.

Chef Isabel Chung is the executive chef at Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Isabel is never short of creating the next “never-seen-before” contemporary cuisine featuring local ingredients. There’s no doubt that Isabel’s indisputable expertise and technique combined with Shelome’s unique Peruvian flavours will elevate your palate for fusion cuisine.
