Making the Most of Canyon Lights

Celebrate the Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge these holidays. It’s truly a sight to see with hundreds of thousands of lights around the park!

We started off on the suspension bridge adorned with hundreds of festive lights. The canyon below was lit up with red, blue and green lights so you could still see the amazing view at night!

After walking across the bridge we stepped into a beautiful scene; a lake lit up with spherical lights, reflecting off the water. It was SO picturesque!

The Treetops Adventure was up next in our walk, it was incredible. Walking high above the ground amongst the trees that are lit up with string lights is a truly unique experience. And new to the park is an interactive ‘Fireflies’ lighting display, which was really cool.

The winter pavilion is a great place to hang out with the fam, if you need a break from all the walking. There’s a little cafe, that serves hot cocoa, cider, coffee and Baileys to warm you right up.

We didn’t make it around the Cliffwalk, as we were running out of time and getting really cold! But, it seemed to be another amazing adventure we’d happily go back to do. Another incredible sight was the 153 foot tall, world’s tallest Christmas Tree! What a sight.

We watched a live band by the ‘Trading Post’, who were really funny and definitely a great addition to the festive scenery! Enjoy a ice cold beer and a nice big burger to fill your appetite after all the walking! And then make sure to stop into the Trading Post to get some souvenirs and yummy fudge.

Overall, the evening was a beautiful adventure. We left feeling a little more in the holiday spirit and inspired by all the lights!

Tips for making the most of your Capilano Canyon Lights adventure:

  • Make sure to layer up for the cold, wear warm shoes, jackets, hats and gloves
  • Bring your wallet to indulge in treats and warm beverages
  • Make sure to get there a little early in the evening, to avoid waiting for parking
  • Don’t forget your camera to capture the lights and get some good family photos!
  • And be sure to remember that strollers aren’t permitted, so if you have a little one make sure you have a safe and secure way to carry them.

Canyon Lights is on til Sunday, January 8th, 2017 from 11am – 9pm.
