It’s all smooth sailing for Drac’s Pack as they indulge in all of the fun the cruise has to offer. Until that dream vacation turns into a nightmare that is! Mavis realizes Drac has fallen for the mysterious captain of the ship, Ericka, who hides a dangerous secret that could destroy all of monster kind.

• Avocados
• Onion
• Pomegranate
• Salt
• Lemon
• Cilantro
• Garlic

Steps:

1. Chop as much (or as little) Onion finely. Then pop into said bowl.
2. Wash Cilantro, then chop, finely. Throw into bowl with onions.
3. Cut avocados in half, peel and remove seed. Put into bowl (onions and cilantro), then MASH and mix.
4. Cut Lemon, squeeze juice into bowl. I love my guac extra lemony.
5. What’s this, a note from Drac asking to keep the garlic on the side hehehe.
6. Dash of salt. MIX.
7. Cut Pomegranate and scoop the seeds into the bowl and MIX.

Serve with plantains, tortilla chips or on/in anything you like~ as you can see above, this time we served as a dip for our veggie platter lunch.

Paint your rocks with a bright coloured, non-toxic, acrylic paint and let dry.

We had a handful of our Ferdinand inspired Kindness Rocks that Luna decided to put out in the community garden as we headed out for the afternoon. And to her surprise, when we walked back home hours later, all of the rocks were gone. I honestly knew that they’d probably be picked up as they were just so bright and adora-BULL. Clearly, our sweet thoughts and sentiments painted on rocks and left for strangers to find, and uplift their day when they least expect it ROCKED.

Luna is super excited to paint some more rocks, and I can’t wait to write out some more sweet thoughts on them and helpe spread random acts of kindness. This is def. a project we’ll be doing often and will get more of our neighbourhood friends in on too!

Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter’s feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door (Rose Byrne).  James Corden voices the character of Peter with playful spirit and wild charm, with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley performing the voice roles of the triplets, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail.

And to celebrate the theatre release of Peter Rabbit, we’ve created an adorable rabbit potted plant DIY.

Materials Needed:

• Construction paper
• Glue
• Googley eyes
• Ribbon
• Paint
• Pom pom
• Flower pot
• Potted plant

Instructions:

Steps 1: Using construction paper, cut out bunny shaped ears.

2: Using a different colour of paper, cut out smaller bunny shaper ears. Then glue these ontop of the “big” ones.

Step 3: Glue bunny ears onto the inside of the flower pot.

4: Glue googley eyes and nose onto flower pot.

Step 5: Paint whiskers and mouth on flower pot.

6: Glue ribbon on top or bottom of flower pot.

Step 7: Glue pom pom (tail) on the back of flower pot.

On February 9th, hop to a theatre near you to watch Peter Rabbit, based on the stories of the character of the same name created by Beatrix Potter.

Anyways, I’ve really been into making Disney DIY’s this last year since it’s a great way for me to relax, show Luna that it’s fun to and “cool” to be creative. Plus, it’s a great bonding experience for the both of us. She loves it when I make things for her, especially if she can show case it in her room.

So, to celebrate the release of Rapunzel: The Series, Queen For A Day on Disney DVD, December 12th, I’m making a cute art piece to display in Luna’s room!

Synopsis: The fate or Corona hangs in the balance when Rapunzel faces the ultimate test in Queen For A Day! When the King and Queen leave town, Rapunzel is set to lead. However, when a blizzard threatens to destroy Corona, the Princess is faced with some tough decisions.

TANGLED: THE SERIES. QUEEN FOR A DAY DIY DECOR

Materials Needed:

• White construction paper
• Turquoise construction paper
• Felts (Purple, Yellow, Black).
• Paint (White, Green, Black).
• Yellow Tissue Paper.
• Glue.
• Frame.

Steps:

1. Draw Rapunzel in the middle of the white paper in pencil. Then go over it in black felt.
2. Choose a fun quote, Rapunzel loves adventures and so does my daughter. So, “New Adventures Await” was perfect! Write it out.
3. Cut out Rapunzel and the quote separatley.
4. Colour In.
5. Paste Rapunzel and quote onto turquoise paper.
6. Cut out fun shapes using white paper to add to turquoise paper.
7. Using white paint, draw some dots and lines around Rapunzel and the quote.
8. Add tiny pieces of yellow tissue paper.
9. Your peice is complete and you can frame to hang on the wall.

However, his attempt at being scary falls flatter than a pancake. Can Mickey conjure up a truly terrifying tale before the stroke of midnight? Also,  in Duck The Halls: A Mickey Mouse Christmas Special, it’s the most wonderful time of the year…to migrate south for the winter! But Donald wants to stay put and celebrate his first Christmas with his friends. Mickey creates the ultimate list of everything to make Donald’s first Christmas great, but before you can catch a snowflake on your tongue, Donald has turned into a shivering, sneezing duck-cicle!

MICKEY MOUSE: MERRY AND SCARY! Trick or Treat Basket

Materials Needed:

• Basket
• Glue Gun or Crazy Glue
• Ribbon
• Tulle
• Scissors
• Construction Paper (Black, Red, and White).

Step 1: Add glue to top rim of basket and set tulle on top.

Step 2: Add glue at the top of the tulle (around the rim) and then place the trim along.

Step 3: Draw two mouse ears and fill in with black sharpie.

Step 4: Draw two oval’s (for Mickey’s buttons) and cut ’em out.

Step 5: Place red construction paper under tulle and glue into place. Cut to fit bucket.

Step 6: Place white oval in the middle of white tulle.

Step 7: Place Mickey’s two ears on top of the bucket’s handle. Space apart evenly, so hand fits in the middle.

We’re joining ELENA OF AVALOR by making a bright and colourful mask inspired by the CELEBRATIONS TO REMEMBER!

Materials Needed for ELENA OF AVALOR: CELEBRATIONS TO REMEMBER MASK

• Scissors.
• 3D stickers of your choice, the brighter the better!
• White construction paper (to make the mask).
• Black markers (to draw the outline/design the mask).
• String

Follow these easy steps:

Step 1: On the white construction paper, start drawing the outlines (design) of your mask. I started at the eyes because it’s easier to work from the inside out, in my opinion.

2: Cut out a fun exaggerated wing shape towards the top of the mask.

Step 3: After you are done drawing the design of your mask in black sharpie, you can begin to colour it in! Choose vibrant colours to make the mask POP.

4: Add your 3D stickers to the mask, I’ve added mine around the eyes to make it more dramatic.

5: Add the string and wear the mask during CELEBRATIONS TO REMEMBER!

Step 1: Cut out the desired shape for the mask.

2: In a sharpie, draw the outline of the facial features of desired character.

Step 3: Colour in the facial features/mask accordingly.

4: Tie in ribbon and voila! The mask is now ready to be worn!

And we’re celebrating the release of THE EMOJI MOVIE with an easy DIY, that’s perfect for the Summer heat.

THE EMOJI MOVIE DIY: DUO HANDHELD FAN AND MASK

Materials:

1. Scissors
2. White Poster Board
3. Crayons
4. Double-sided tape
5. Popsicle Stick

Step 1: Cut two large circles out of the white poster board.

Step 2: With a pencil (or crayon, like me) lightly draw the facial expressions of your favourite emoji. I chose to do the “I’m laughing so hard, I’m crying” face since it’s my favourite emoji, and the “silly face” since it’s Luna’s favourite emoji.

Step 3: Colour in the facial expressions.

Step 4: Time for your little one to join in on the activity! With the yellow crayon, ask them to colour in the rest of the face.

Step 5: Add double-sided tape on the back of each emoji and sandwich the popsicle stick between both emojis. And voila, your duo emoji fan and mask is complete.

The first book in the Captain Underpants series came out back in 1997! I remember that one of my brothers was totally into Captain Underpants. Since he was a little bit of a rambunctious and witty kid, he revelled in the adventures (and pranks) of George Beard and Harold Hutchins.

As the oldest sibling, I was often in charge of reading stories at night. And you can bet that I read a couple of pages of the series to my brother. And thought it’d be fun to celebrate the movies release with a fun activity!

If you aren’t aware,  Mr. Krupp gains superpowers by drinking alien juices and turns into his alter-ego “Captain Underpants.” And I’m going to create my very own super power treats for my little Moon to get her own powers.

Captain Underpants inspired Superfood Strawberries

Ingredients:

• Strawberries
• Coconut flakes
• Chia seeds
• Sunflower seeds
• Forte spread

Steps:

1. After washing the strawberries, dip them into spread.
2. Sprinkle coconut, chia and sunflower seeds on top.
3. Place in fridge so that spread hardens (15-mins).
4. Enjoy these superfood treats.

RAPUNZEL: Before Ever After INSPIRED DIY FLOWER CROWN

• Fake flowers. We used pastel colours, primarily pink and yellow.
• Thick yellow ribbon.
• Stretchy headband. We used a purple coloured headband, since it’s one of Rapunzel’s colours.
• Crazy glue. So much easier to use than a hot glue gun, especially when the little ones are around.

1. Remove the flowers from the stems.
2. Arrange flowers accordingly. Glue them together.
3. Knot (or make into a bow) the yellow ribbon a couple times and glue together so it stay in place.
4. Glue the flowers and knot together.
5. Glue the flowers/knot onto the stretchy headband.
