As everyone in our family (grandparents included) were pumped for Luna to start her scholastic adventure, our little sun was feeling a little grey. So I knew I had to cheer him up with something special. I surprised him with his very own Lassig About Friends Mini Backpack. He was so excited to have a new backpack, just like his big sister. And I was just as excited because this meant that my diaper bag would finally be a little lighter, phew! My plan was to get him to carry his extra set of clothes, snack, lunch and water bottle from then on!

And it worked. He is always so eager to help me pack his snacks/lunch into his Lassig Mini Backpack before heading out on our next adventure. The Lassig Mini Backpack is not too big or bulky, it’s the perfect size for pre-school aged kids and kindergarten too.
The Lassig Mini Backpack has 3 compartments. The main one being the largest, which fits a lunch box/thermos, and an extra set of clothes. The smaller compartment on the front is great for storing trinkets/small objects. For example, it’s where my sun stores his cars or small toys for easy access. There is a compartment at the bottom of the backpack that fits a ice pack that is held by bands, so that your child’s food stays fresh. But, honestly, we put the lunch box in it, and it works perfectly.
The mesh pocket on the outside is great for water bottles.
Comfort
The About Friends Mini Backpack has wide, padded shoulder straps that are adjustable and a chest strap that provides extra stability.
Safety
As mentioned above, this backpack has a chest strap for extra stability and two reflective stripes on the shoulder straps. Their is a clear name badge sleeve on the inside of the main compartment, which I like a lot because our kids info (name, school, phone number) is not visible to EVERYONE. The Lassig About Friends Mini backpack also has a key holder inside the main compartment, so keys can be stored safely.
Eco Friendly
These backpacks are incredibly well made from recycled bottles in Germany. Lassig products are manufactured exclusively from harmless, pollutant-tested, innovative and high-quality materials. These include recycled polyester from PET bottles, GOTS certified organic cotton, water-saving substances and materials, where the manufacturing processes require special production methods needing fewer chemicals and where resources are conserved.
This backpack also comes with a small zippered pouch. It can be used as a pencil case, or to store some knick knacks/small toys too. Personally, we use this pouch to store our reusable cutlery and cloth napkin, so we always have it on hand! We are trying to reduce our use of plastics.
