Our family is eco-conscious, as we continue on the green path, making our home and life more eco-friendly. It doesn’t have to happen all at once, as that can get very expensive. Since we hang dry our clothes, our cotton towels would sometimes dry a little rough, and would irritate our skin. But, our bamboo towels on the other hand, dry soft, even when they are hung to dry.

PeapodMats Review

One of the most useful baby products Gabriel and I have used since becoming parents two years ago is the PeapodMats. PeapodMats are convenient, versatile waterproof mats that are unlike any other conventional waterproof mats on the market today.

We have been using PeapodMats since our Little Moon was a newborn, on our bed as a “nursing mat,” so that my breastmilk would not get on our bed mattress. Our PeapodMats was also useful as a change mat on the bed, as we didn’t have a change table.

Bright Starts “League of Little Laughers” Play Date!

I look forward to play dates because it gives me a little bit of “breathing room” and I usually get to sit down for a couple of minutes, sip on some HOT tea and catch up with my mama friends, while our little ones play. We had a couple little friends over who range in ages and stages- the youngest being 12 months, and a couple of 20 and 21 month old toddlers. It was interesting to see what attracted each child to a toy. For example, some of the kids were drawn to the music of one toy, the colours of another or the bright monkey that was rolling and glowing all over the place.

The kids took to the Bright Start Learn & Giggle Activity Station right away. With more than 65 sounds, melodies, lights and phrases there is something for every age and stage. The very engaging Learn & Giggle Activity Station is a window full of activities for baby to explore and learn! Our little crawler friend loved to sit and play, while Little Moon choose to stand and play. Luna was really into the pressing down on the kitty’s paw as it revealed an exciting light display in the playful fish bowl. There are many buttons to press to hear phrases, shapes, colours, letters, numbers, object identification and cause and effect, which is great for any stage and age. Luna is into repeating everything so she enjoyed repeating the colours, letters, number and shapes. Little crawler was into spinning the sun, that lights up!

The Bright Starts Roll & Glow Monkey was also hit. The toddlers loved pressing down on the monkey’s hat so that the light-up wheels and music would start, and the monkey would roll away. We played “catch” with the Roll & Glow Monkey. I would push the button on the monkey’s head and once it started rolling, the kids would chase after and try to catch it. The Roll & Glow Monkey is also great for playing pass between to kids, just have them sit across from one another! Fun was had my all with the Roll & Glow, it got baby and toddlers moving and laughing!

Another fun chasing activity was encouraged by the Bright Starts Spin & Giggle Puppy. First, the kids can place the balls in the puppy’s bowl, then have one child press the light up buttons on paws or press down on the inside of the bowl to get puppy wobbling. The bowl wobbles and spins balls around until the balls spill out, encouraging baby to chase the balls and repeat all over again.

And last but not least, the Bunch of Balls. Little Moon is totally obsessed with balls right now, so she just loved turning the container the Bright Starts Bunch of Balls upside down and seeing the balls bounce and roll all over the place. After doing that a couple times, she started to throw the balls into a laundry basket and shoe box. The Bright Starts Bunch of Balls are great for organizing games like pass or putting them into a sensory table.

After a couple of hours, our Bright Starts League of Little Laughers Play Date had come to an end. The toys were enjoyed by all, and some even found some new homes. There is nothing quite like seeing your little kid laugh their head off while having fun with the friends. And us mama bears were also happy to not only engage and play with our children, but also to be able to sit back and catch’up with one another. Oh, and I’m specifically impressed at how much fun Little Moon was having that I got to use the washroom ALONE! Hahaha, If I get to go pee alone during a play date, it’s a SUCCESS, LOL.
