SANTE Natural Cosmetics is one of my favourite beauty brands. Sante’ Natural Cosmetics are one of the extraordinary, high-quality brands produced by Logocos of Germany. The high-quality formulations with vegetable oils and extracts while gentle care and ensure optimal compatibility, even with very sensitive skin. For a naturally beautiful makeup, do your skin good.

SANTE Natural Cosmetics

“SANTE Natural Cosmetics” – Young, Trendy, Fresh Products

I have been using SANTE natural cosmetics for about two and a half years now, and I have to say that it’s one of my favourite beauty brands. I love the quality, selection of natural colours and the fact that SANTE Natural Cosmetics are Certified Natural Cosmetics.

This means that SANTE “uses natural raw material such as plant oils, fats and waxes, herbal extracts and essential oils and aromatic materials from controlled biological cultivation or controlled biological wild collection. In addition to the careful selection of raw materials, the ecological impact of each product plays an important role.”

Natural cosmetics serve to beautify and care for the human body by means of ingredients from nature.

Below I am sharing five must have SANTE products that will most definitely become staples in your makeup bag.

Eyeshadow Trio

Sante- Eyeshadow Trio-Smokey Eye

“SANTE”- Eyeshadow Trio (Smokey Eyes)

Sante’s Eyeshadow Trio in Smokey Eyes is a very practical palette to have in your makeup bag because the colours can be used from nude to glam looks. The colours are rich, great pigmentation and smooth, almost creamy to the touch. Not tested on animals.

Lipstick

SANTE Lipstick "Soft Red"

SANTE natural cosmetic Lipstick -“Soft Red”

Hands down, SANTE lipsticks are my favourite, especially this colour, Soft Red. SANTE Soft Red lipstick is intense (colour) and classic. It provides soft lip care and gentle protection. For irresistible lips. It’s long lasting and doesn’t bleed.

With organic jojoba. Skin-friendly, free of synthetic coloring agents, fragrances or preservatives. Not tested on animals.

Eyebrow Pencil

SANTE Natural Cosmetics- "Eyebrow Pencil" No.2

SANTE Natural Cosmetics- “Eyebrow Pencil” No.2

SANTE Eyebrow Pencil in brown is my go-to eyebrow filler. Eyebrow pencils are so easy to use, I just outline and fill then style with brush.

I find that eyebrow pencil’s are less intimidating than brow palettes, but that’s probably because I don’t know how to use one properly? Hahaha.

Pressed Powder

SANTE -"Pressed Powder" in Porcelain

SANTE -“Pressed Powder” in Porcelain

SANTE Pressed Powders. The perfect finish enriched with ultra-fine mineral pigments. For a powdery, transparent and even soft-matte complexion. With organic jojoba and camomile. Not tested on animals.

Mascara Volume

SANTE Mascara Volume is awesome, it gives your eyelashes amazing volume, dramatic curves and long-lastings coverage. SANTE mascara volume is not waterproof, making it is easy to remove. I usually just remove with water or a bit of coconut oil.

The formula is a perfect balance between wet and dry. SANTE mascara volume has natural waxes and purified mineral pigments that nurture your eyelashes.

If you are looking for some new essential beauty products to add to your makeup bag, I really recommend trying SANTE natural cosmetics, especially any of the five products listed here.

SANTE is a brand that cares about your body and the environment. Experience the beauty of nature in a unique color palette for each type: young, fresh and trendy. Discover the “pure colors of nature” by SANTE natural cosmetics.

I would love to hear which SANTE product you are most likely to try!

Living a natural lifestyle, starting in the bathroom in 10 Easy Steps.

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #NaturalGoodness #CollectiveBias

Living a natural lifestyle is about making healthier choices, and in our home, it’s a  family affair. Making healthier choices doesn’t necessarily  mean you have to spend a ton of money, like some people believe. It’s about  progress. And we all know that progress happens smoother or quicker when there is a plan.

We thought that the most important place to start making healthier choices was in the bathroom. We were going to start living a natural lifestyle by making our bathroom eco-friendly.

The first part of our natural family plan was to start making our own toothpaste. This would include searching the web for homemade recipes. Once we had the recipe, we got to work. We mixed bi-carbonato con aciete de coco y unas gotitas de menta. Voila, it was done. The first couple of days Gabriel and I felt so PROUD of our little expirement accomplishment. But as the weeks went by, we confessed to each other that we weren’t 100% satisfied with our homemade toothpaste, we were missing that “freshness.”  We would play around a little bit more with batches, but never really got one that we felt that minty crispiness.

So, one day we were wandering down the “Oral hygiene” aisle in Walmart looking for a natural toothpaste and saw Tom’s of Maine. We looked at each-other, read the box, looked at the price, and then smiled. And like they say, the rest is history. LOL.

tomsofmaine-sillystrawberry-naturalgoodnesstoothpaste

After trying Tom’s of Maine for the first time, we were hooked to the natural toothpaste. Tom’s of Maine is a great introduction brand for families who want to make more natural choices because it is affordable and they also offer other natural products; be sure to check them out
Tomsofmaine.com

We feel at ease knowing what ISN’T in our toothpaste, Tom’s of Maine  NEVER uses artificial colors, flavors, fragrances, preservatives or animal testing. We also appreciate that Tom’s of Maine carries products for babies/toddlers/children. We’ve also tried their Silly Strawberry, which taste delicious and doesn’t have any flouride. It’s silly enough for kids, and parent approved!

tomsofmaine-naturalliving-healthierchoices-sillystrawberry-toddlertrainingtoothpaste

Our second step was to buy natural bath products. We bought natural/organic shampoo,  handmade soap from the farmer’s market, and started using organic shea butter as our moisturizer. We also stopped using aerosol products completely. I’ve actually made my own “hairspray” concoction, using water and citrus peels.

Beauty, I got rid of all my stuff and decided to start from zero. Buying just “my essentials,” mascara, lipstick, and eyebrow pencil. My organic beauty collection has grown over time to include other goodies like bronzer, eye-shadow, eye-liner. And I’ve even made my own coffee body-scrub, and now use coconut oil to remove makeup.

Did you know that baking soda  and vinegar aren’t only useful in the kitchen, cooking? They are great for cleaning your home naturally.

Have you heard of that famous saying… “If its yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush it down?” Hahaha, well we do that here in order to reduce our water consumption. Also, you know how sometimes you let the water warm up before you hop into the shower? Well, I like to pop a little bucket in there to catch the “warm up water” and re-use it later on in the day. Whether it be for brushing my teeth or washing my face.

We also like to buy soap that doesn’t come in a wrapper or box, so that way we reduce waste.

One of the last points on our plan was to recycle as much as possible, to try to re-use the empty boxes, or bottles. For example, the empty bottle of bodywash/shampoo, we put a little bit of rice in it to make it into a shaker for Luna.

And last, but not least on our list was to switch our light-bulbs. We wanted to start using LED lightbulbs to save energy. LEDs come to full brightness without need for a warm-up time, unlike fluorescent lamps.

You can also have an Eco-Friendly Bathroom in 10 Easy Steps:

  1. Buy (or make) toothpaste
  2. Buy (or make) natural bath products.
  3. Buy (or make) natural beauty products.
  4. Stop using hairspray/aerosol products.
  5. Use baking soda.
  6. Use vinegar.
  7. Reduce.
  8. Reuse.
  9. Recycle.
  10. Light-bulbs.

I’d love to hear some of the ways you encourage your family to live a natural lifestyle!

Zorah Pure Argan Beauty Review

Zorah biocosmétiques  is a line of high quality cosmetic-care products designed, produced and distributed in Canada. Zorah products are made with organic, eco-friendly and fair-trade ingredients. Their products do not contain any animal products or mineral oils (ex.: petroleum) and are not tested on animals, YAY!

I absolutely adore the Zorah Pure Argan makeup products. I had the pleasure of trying out the Pure Argan BBB Cream in Pinky Beige, the Length & Care Mascara, Liquid Eyeliner, Lip Gloss in Léa and Ombré Eyeshadow. The main natural ingredient in all of these products, Argan oil, protects the skin, restores its’ natural barrier and neutralizes free radicals – making it the perfect ingredient for makeup!SONY DSC

SONY DSC My favourite product from the bunch is the BBB Cream in Pinky Beige. Slightly pigmented, the cream works to reduce redness (Because of its Argan oil base, wich is a powerful antioxidant), tighten pores and smooth the skin while protecting it from free radicals. It gives my skin a healthy glow and is great to use in lieu of liquid foundation for a more natural look.Zorah Makeup Review - 3

Zorah Makeup Review - 2The eyeshadow in Ombré is awesome. It’s beautiful, smoky colour goes on smooth – lasting all day and it also has some serious skin care benefits. The eyeshadow is a great alternative to most, as the Argan Oil works to support anti-aging, which most people tend to notice the most around the eyes!

Zorah Makeup Review - 1The mascara is great because, unlike most mascaras that tend to damage the lashes, the Argan oil works to promote growth. So it’s a win/win! Not only will your lashes look great, they will benefit from wearing this mascara. What could be better!

Zorah Makeup Review - 4The liquid eyeliner also has similar benefits and is long lasting. It’s very light weight and easy on the eyelids, which can be very sensitive.

Zorah Makeup Review - 5As for the lip gloss, it helped my lips feel smooth and silky. I’m not usually a big fan of gloss (I usually go for matte lip sticks, which I would love to see in this line!) but as far as lip gloss goes – this one was great. It helped my lips stay moisturized in the summer heat while adding a pop of colour.

I usually feel a bit guilty wearing makeup – because I know that it can have some damaging effects on the skin (in comparison to going eau naturalé, with no makeup!), but this makeup line takes all that guilt away.I just love how these products work to support healthy skin. I can look my best and feel my best about it, guilt free!

Zorah Makeup Review - 6Did I mention that Zorah is fully committed to improving the environment in every step of its production and distribution processes? Zorah’s containers are 100% recyclable, their brochures are printed with vegetable-based inks on 100% recycled paper and their products are manufactured locally so as to reduce unnecessary transport. Each step in the preparation of Zorah’s products is another step towards sustainable development.

In Vancouver, you can find Zorah, pure argan beauty products at Choices Markets!

MyChelle ‘Hello, Beautiful’ Collection for Sensitive Skin

Hello, beautiful! Let me introduce you to Mychelle Dermaceuticals, who create the most effective, nontoxic skin care products. MyChelle products deliver fast, powerful, visible results without nasty ingredients or toxic chemicals. Mychelle experts scoured the world for the most potent natural ingredients and put them to work in their skin-saving formulas that calm, nourish, treat and love your skin to its most beautiful.

Yesterday I tried out the MyChelle Demaceuticals Pure Harmony ‘Hello Beautiful Collection’ for Sensitive Skin. First of all I have to say, I love that these products are vegan! I started out with the Pure Harmony Cleanser – eliminating any residue left from my busy day downtown.

Mychelle-HelloBeautiful

The cleanser was gentle and hydrating, leaving my skin clean, smooth and ready for the Pure Harmony Mask. I applied the mask all over my face and left it on for 20 minutes. The mask was incredibly soothing on my skin, working to calm any irritation caused by environmental stresses.

After wiping away the mask, I applied the Pure Harmony Serum. The serum is packed with anti-oxidants and works to reduce the appearance of puffiness and redness by calming the skin. I absolutely love serums, I feel like they really penetrate the skin with an abundance of nutrients.

Next came the Pure Harmony Mist – which is also rich with nutrients, awakening the skin and promoting regeneration. The mist was a nice touch to the step by step process.

After the mist, I applied the Pure Harmony Cream, adding even more nutrients and moisture to my skin without any irritation – a perfect ending to the five step process.mychellehellobeautifulcollectionforsensitiveskin

The collection also includes an SPF cream that I used the next morning under my makeup to protect my skin from sun damage, slowing down the aging process I just worked (not very hard and with enjoyment) to prevent.

The “Hello Beautiful” collection has 5 sets, “Sensitive Skin,” “All Skin Types,” “Age Spot/UV Recovery,””Dry Skin,” and “Youth Blemish Control.”  The “Hello Beautiful” collections make excellent sample sets (to try something new), travel companions (take your MyChelle faves everywhere you go) and even gifts. Plus, the collectible box is something you can use long after the products are gone.

For those of you with sensitive skin – who are also looking for the added benefit of health safe ingredients, I would recommend checking out MyChelle Dermaceuticals, which can be found at ALL Whole Foods. mychelle-hellobeautifulkit-

Dr. Woods Soap Review

Dr.Woods Soap

In our home, we try to be conscious about what goes into our body, whether it is ingested orally or absorbed through the skin (via soaps, makeup). We try to buy things that are NATURAL, and I  mean that they are really NATURAL and not “natural” as part of the registered name/trademark of the brand (read my post about GREENWASHING).  It’s important to buy products that don’t have harmful ingredients, like synthetic agents and harsh chemicals.

I remember that the first products that we threw out were all from our washroom. We dumped the hair products, lotions and soaps because they had some of the nastiest chemicals in them. So over the last year and a bit, we have been trying out natural, hand made soaps. Some of my favourite soaps are made by Dr.Woods.

Dr.Wood’s soaps are:

  1. All natural (NO DETERGENTS)
  2. Vegetable Based
  3. With Fair Trade Shea Butter
  4. Triple milled
  5. Biodegradable
  6. Lauryl/laureth sulfates free
  7. Paraben and Phthalate free
  8. NO artificial colours
  9. NO animal ingredients
  10. NOT tested on animals
  11. Eco-Friendly
  12. Made in USA

On Lunita, we use the Unscented Baby Mild Soap. I really like this soap because it is actually UNSCENTED, yes, NO fragrance. Woo-hoo. Its lower pH balance ensures a gentler clean, which is ideal for sensitive skin. Dr. Woods Unscented Baby Mild Castile Soap is also hypoallergenic, made with organic essential oils, organic shea butter and Vitamin E. It lathers well and can be used on body and hair.

Dr. Woods Unscented Baby Mild Castile Soap is gentle on Lunita’s delicate/sensitive skin. It leaves her skin soft and moisturized.

Ingredients in Dr. Woods Unscented Baby Mild Castile Soap : Organic palm oil, organic coconut oil, sodium hydroxide, water, organic olive oil, organic shea butter, organic hemp oil, organic jojoba oil, citric acid, vitamin E.

Gabriel and I have tried both the Ginger Citrus Castile Soap and Shea Vision, which is a liquid soap.

Ginger Citrus Soap.  We like this soap because it awakens and restores. The ginger and citrus combo is revitalizing and pleasant scent, which is light, not over-bearing. All of Dr. Woods soaps don’t contain detergent, so it doesn’t strip away skin’s natural moisture. In fact,, the Vitamin E, organic shea butter, and blend of organic jojoba and olive oils leaves your skin feeling naturally soft, clean and moisturized.

We love that Dr.Woods soaps are versatile for everyday use as a body wash, facial cleanser, even shampoo! It lathers great. I have used it on my body, face and hair, and found that it leaves my skin feeling super soft and has even helped minimize the redness/blemish on my face.

Dr. Woods Bar Soaps come in nine different scents and types- allowing you to choose the type that best matches your skin’s needs.

  • Ingredients: Organic palm oil, organic coconut oil, sodium hydroxide*, water, natural ginger citrus fragrance, organic olive oil, organic jojoba oil, organic shea butter, citric acid, vitamin E.

Dr. Woods also makes a liquid soaps,Shea Vision, which comes in a variety of natural scents: Lavender, Peppermint, Almond, Tea Tree and Pure Black Soap. We had tried the later, Dr. Woods Pure Black Soap, and swear by it, its ideal for skincare.

Dr.Woods Pure Black Soap is by far my favourite soap because it’s multi use, it can be used as a facial cleanser, body wash, shaving lather, shampoo,a soak AND you can even use it as an all natural cleaner (to clean floors, countertop, etc). Dr. Woods Shea Vision Pure Black Soap With Organic Shea Butter gently exfoliates dead skin, leaving your skin looking radiant. I noticed after several used that my skin was looking brighter and felt softer too.  Dr. Woods Shea Vision Pure Black Soap With Organic Shea Butter has also done wonders with my blemishes (undiagnosed rosacea), it reduces the redness.

The light scent is also very relaxing, Dr. Woods Shea Vision Pure Black Soap With Organic Shea Butter leaves both my body and mind feeling refreshed and revitalized.

Uses for Dr. Woods Shea Vision Pure Black Soap With Organic Shea Butter:

  • Daily Facial Cleanser: Massage onto wet face in circular motion with fingers; rinse with warm water.
  • In Shower: Apply generous amount onto wet hands, washcloth, or loofah and massage over body; rinse well. Apply small amount to palm and massage into wet hair; then rinse.
  • In Bath: Squeeze a capful or two into running water to form a wonderful, soothing soak.
  • All Natural Cleaning: Use 4 parts water to 1 part Dr. Woods for dishes, floors, counters and more!

Ingredients: Water, Saponified Coconut, Hemp & Olive Oils with retained Glycerin, Black Soap Concentrate,Organic Shea Butter (Butyrospermun Parkii), Fragrance, Vitamin E Oil, (Tocopheryl Acetate), Peppermint Oil, Sea Salt, Citric Acid, Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) Extract, Caramel.

If you are looking for a soap/shampoo/cleaner that has NO synthetics, NO artificial colours, NO parabens and pthalates, NO lauryl/laureth sulfates, in other words 100% NATURAL AND cruelty free, vegan and organic…you have to try Dr. Woods soaps. They won’t disappoint.

Natural Deodorant: Tom’s of Maine "Long Lasting" Fresh Apricot Review

I don’t wear deodorant everyday, seriously. I usually only wear it if…
1) I’m going to an event
2) It’s scorchin hot outside
3) I will be running around

Hahaha sorry if that just grossed you out, but the truth is even if I sweat, it doesn’t smell (that much/bad)? Haahaha or that’s what I like to think! Anyways, as I mentioned before I am slowly transitioning into “greener”/healthier  products and one of the first things I bought a couple of months ago was a natural deodorant, Tom’s of Maine “Long Lasting” in the fresh apricot scent.

I have been using Tom’s of Maine fresh apricot scent for about three months now and am very pleased with it. I apply it in the morning and by the end of the day I am still feeling fresh and smelling sweet; it really is a long lasting deodorant. The smell is just delicious, the fresh apricot scent reminds me of breezy summer nights. I have even got compliments about how good I smell, people asking me what aroma I am wearing, and they are shocked when I tell them it’s my Tom’s of Maine deodorant hahaha.

Did I mention that it’s fragrance is natural? There is no artificial fragrance, it comes from plant oils. There is also no artificial preservatives and no animal ingredients or testing. Oh, and it is aluminum free!

I’ve even converted my mom into a Tom’s of Maine natural deodorant user because she loved the smell so much and it works great for her too. I recommend Tom’s of Maine deodorant, but please be advised that what works for me, may or may not work for you, our bodies are different 😉 But still, give it a shot and let me know how it goes.

I purchased this specific Tom’s of Maine deodorant at Walmart for about $4. You can also purchase Tom’s of Maine at your local health store.

Have you ever tried Tom’s of Maine deodorant, what was your experience?

GREENWASHING: WHAT is it and WHY You should care!

I previously wrote about “Cause Marketing” and  Pinkwashing and received a lot of great feedback! I wasn’t surprised that there were quite a few people who didn’t know what Pinkwashing was and how big corporations use cause marketing to manipulate and confuse consumers..

So today I want to introduce you to another strategic marketing term called GREENWASHING, which was coined by environmentalist Jay Westervelt in 1986. His essay was about how the hotel industry places little “info cards” in each of the suite’s restroom’s promoting the reuse of towels to “save the environment.” I’m sure you must have seen one the last time you stayed at a hotel. Anyways, Westervelt noted that in most cases, little or no effort toward reducing waste was being made by the hotels, that in fact  the objective of this “movement” was to increase profit. “Westervelt thus labeled this and other outwardly environmentally conscientious acts with a greater, underlying purpose of profit increase as greenwashing.”

What is greenwashing? It is a misleading and deceptive claim used to promote the perception that a product, service, company policies or technology are environmentally friendly.

The majority of the companies that take part in this deceptive form of marketing, greenwashing, spend significantly more money on advertising they are “green”, than the environmental cause/practice they claim to be “helping.” For example, I read that some of the big companies that participate in “Earth Hour” spend millions of dollars on advertising they are a “Eco-Friendly” company, but they in fact do not have “Eco-Friendly” practices/policies.

Greenwashing also includes changing the name, logo, or label of a product to appear “more natural” even though the product contains harmful chemicals. Yes, it’s totally legal and SHOULDN’T BE, the regulations are next to none for greenwashing.

You should care about greenwashing because it’s harmful to you and the environment! Companies shouldn’t be allowed to mislead us into believing their products are “natural” or “Eco-Friendly” if they really aren’t, SHAME ON THEM! Nothing is going to change unless we voice our opinions and demand they stop greenwashing!

If you spot a product that has been greenwashed you can report it!

Canada: Competition Bureau
USA: FTC

I would love to hear if you had you heard of the term greenwashing before reading this post? Have you spotted any greenwashing??

LOGONA Naturkosmetic: Lipgloss Swatches and Review

LOGONA Naturakosmetik was founded in Germany in the 1970’s and is a leading supplier of natural personal care products around the world. LOGONA guarantees quality in its products:
1. Free from synthetic colours, fragrances ans preservatives.
2. Free from paraffin oil or any other raw materials from petroleum chemistry
3. Made with plant oils and extracts from organic cultivation
4. Developed and produced without animal testing
5. Dermatological tests confirm good skin compatibility and effectiveness
6. Predominantly vegan products
7. Meets strict criteria for controlled natural cosmetics (BDIH and NaTrue= reliable proof of natural and organic quality)

I’ve been a fan of LOGONA Naturkosmetic since discovering the brand 7 months ago during the Latina Lifestyle Blogger Conference in LA. The only lip gloss I have in my makeup stash is LOGONA, in three tints: Red Berry, Light Brown and Terracotta.

Yes, I’m serious, I only have THREE .34 oz tubes of lip gloss! Why? Because I can rest assured that they are free of synthetic preservatives, colors and fragrances, and, are BDIH certified.

LOGONA’s Lip Glosses are sheer and can be worn alone or over a lipstick, which is one of my favorite perks about the product. The lip gloss provides great shine and lots of moisture to the lips leaving them feeling soft and healthy. I personally love that LOGONA’s Lip Glosses are not a sticky, making  them comfortable to wear. Also, their lip gloss is long lasting and doesn’t taste like anything (phew, because I don’t like it when my lip gloss/stick have a flavour/taste). LOGONA’s Lip Glosses are perfect for anyone who wants a fragrance free lip gloss!

LOGONA Lip Gloss Left to Right: Light Brown (#05), Terracotta (#06) and Red Berry (#01)

#05 Light Brown: Is a beautiful light brown, leaning more towards a nude tint. I love the natural colour, looks great worn alone or on top of a lipstick. I personally like wearing it ontop of dark lips or matte lipsticks for that extra moisture.

#06 Terracotta: Is a nude tone with light shimmer. Looks great worn alone or on top of any coloured lipstick.

#01 Red Berry: Has a rich red tint. Like the rest of LOGONA’s lip glosses, it looks great worn alone or on top of lipstick.
Have you heard of LOGONA Naturkosmetic before?

October Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Cause Marketing, Pinkwashing and What Questions to Ask Yourself BEFORE Buying Pink Ribbon Products.

I always notice the “Pink Ribbon” products throughout the year, but during the month of October I see a surge in “Pink Ribbon” products EVERYWHERE! I’m pretty sure just about EVERY company has a “Pink Ribbon” product out during October, the Breast Cancer Awareness Month...

Blame it on Cause Marketing, a term used when “companies align themselves with a cause because it will improve the public’s perception of them and increase their profits, and Breast Cancer Awareness is one of them. Unfortunately, consumers are led to believe that their purchases will help end the breast cancer epidemic.”

I’ll admit that I have never bought a “Pink Ribbon” product because I just have to so many questions that can never be answered by asking the sales associate or reading the pamphlet and/or label. I just don’t trust that these companies REALLY CARE about the cause they are promoting, I just see it as marketing, another way to cash in on a cause and the consumers who REALLY DO CARE. I rather donate DIRECTLY to an organization where I know how the money is being spent.

And watch out for the Pinkwasher: (pink’-wah-sher) noun. A company or organization that claims to care about breast cancer by promoting a pink ribbon product, but at the same time produces, manufactures and/or sells products that are linked to the disease.

Questions to ask before buying a “Pink Ribbon” product:

1. Does any money from this purchase go to support breast cancer programs? How much?
EXAMPLE, this year, UGG Australia is selling a Pink Ribbon Collection, their famous boots and slippers with a pink ribbon on the side. HOWEVER, purchase of the Pink of Ribbon Collection is not connected to UGG Australia’s donation. None of the portion of the sales went toward their already set donation of $42,750 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. No matter whether or not you buy the Pink Ribbon Collection, their donation is the same.

From UGG Australia’s website Pink Ribbon Collection:
“In 2013, UGG Australia donated $42,750 to Susan G. Komen to help in the fight against breast cancer. Additional purchases will result in raising awareness to the ongoing battle and not to additional donations.”

2.What organization will get the money? What will they do with the funds, and how do these programs affect the breast cancer epidemic?
EXAMPLE: The Breast Cancer Awareness 2 pack of Smooth Sphere Lip Balm is advertised by its maker, eos, online with the following: “A portion of proceeds will benefit breast cancer research.” It is not clear what breast cancer organizations would benefit, how much money they would receive, and what programs or work would be funded by the donation.
3. Is there a “cap” on the amount the company will donate? Has this maximum donation already been met?
EXAMPLE: In 2010, Reebok marketed a line of pink ribbon emblazoned footwear and apparel at prices ranging from$50 to $100. Though it heavily promoted the fact that some of their pink ribbon product sales would be donated tothe Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, they set a limit of $750,000, regardless of how many items were sold, and therewas no mechanism in place to alert consumers once the maximum donation had been met.

5. Does this product have toxins linked to breast cancer? What is the company doing to ensure that its products are not contributing to the breast cancer epidemic?
EXAMPLE: In 2011, Susan G. Komen for the Cure commissioned a perfume called Promise Me that contains unlisted chemicals that are regulated as toxic and hazardous, have not been adequately evaluated for human safety, and have demonstrated negative health effects.
