Bart Simpson and Leather Outfit

I was kindly invited by Chicnova to try out one of their products, so when I spotted this Bart Simpson sweater I knew it’d be a cool classic I could keep forever and wear so many different ways!

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the sweater, it fit perfectly and is provides enough warmth for a crisp Fall day. So far I have been able to dress this Bart Simpson sweater up, (like in this outfit) and down with some comfy boyfriend jeans n sneakers.

Gabriel also loved the sweater since he is a HUGE fan of The Simpsons!

Starting a New Chapter in Life: Parenthood

[wearing: Jazz Lace Dress – Monica Bandala Necklace – Monica Bandala Jeans – Jeffrey Campbell Wedges]
I AM SO EXCITED!!! This little gift is the best I’ve ever recieved. It’s one that I will nurture, cherish, nourish and love unconditionally until my last breath…

YES!!!! Gabriel and I have been generously blessed by God, we are starting a new chapter in our lives called PARENTHOOD.

I’m estatic to know that inside of me, life is happening; that there is a little bundle of love growing everyday and he or she is already experiencing life inside my womb, and that in a short 6 months he or she will be experiencing life outside of me. To me, this whole process has been a miracle… Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming, LIFE, it’s just that beautiful…

Butterflies and Silk

“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.” Mother Teresa

[wearing: Butterfly Shirt – Vintage Silk Skirt – YSL Purse – Expression Wedges]

I think it all starts with a sincere smile. Not only does that gesture make you feel good, it also makes those you interact with (or even walk by) smile too, in turn making them feel good and smiling and passing along the good vibes to others!

I’ve said it before, smiling only takes a second to do and it’s positive effect is contagious. What are you waiting for…SMILE 😉

“Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.” -Saint Augustine

Have faith in yourself, have faith that you have made the right decisions and are on the right path. Have faith that everything you are working so hard towards will come true.

Faith is about believing.

Have faith that the world is a good place. Have faith that those who are hungry will be fed. Have faith that those who are thirsty will be given a drink. Have faith that those who need help will receive it. Have faith in your community, give back back.

Faith is about acting on your beliefs.

Silk, Denim and Feed India

As some may know, I shop once in a blue moon. The majority of my clothes are hand-me-downs, from swaps or gifts. But there is the rare occasion where I do purchase something new…

When I’m looking at purchasing something, I try to investigate whether or not the designer gives back via charity/philanthropy work. And last year while doing some research I learned that Rachel Roy is actively participating in charities around the world (India, Uganda, Ethiopia, Haiti) and that she also has her own initiatives, like Kindness is Always Fashionable and ethically sourcing fabrics from India.

One of her recent initiatives is a collaboration with Lauren Bush’s FEED campaign. Rachel Roy designed two limited edition bags for charity. “For every FEED India bag sold, 100 school meals will be provided to children in India.” FEED creates good products that help FEED the world. They sell bags, apparel and accessories.

I’ve had the chance to talk to Rachel Roy in person and via phone about her philanthropic work and she’s so inspiring. I can’t wait for you to hear what she’s got to say about living life positively and giving back.

Socks, Sandals and a Snapback: No Complaints

26 years and I honestly can’t complain. I have health, love and peace which I believe are the key components for living joyfully. There have been a few hiccups, but nothing that has really interfered with the way I live.

Reflection is so important for growth. When was the last time you opened up to yourself? YES…yourself. Everyone has things they want to forget, but one day you just have to open your heart and forgive.

Forgiveness is one of the most valuable lessins that life has taught me. It’s impossible to live happily if you are carrying any negative emotions/aura/vibes in your heart; resentment, guilt, regret, any kind of pain.

With practice and time, you’ll genuienly be able to open your heart and forgive. Be patient and don’t worry.
