Frida’s Last Folk: Cape ‘n Infinity

In this series from Frida’s Last Folk by Monica Bandala (Mexican Designer) I am wearing an AH-MAY-ZING cape that has an infinity scarf attached! If that wasn’t cool enough, the infinity scarf doubles as over sized hood. The tribal print denim/leather shorts are also by Monica Bandala, you can see more photos here.

Frida’s Last Folk: Denim Tribal Print Cape with Hood

Hola! Aqui les presento the fourth outfit de Frida’s Last Folk for Monica Bandala‘s Spring Summer 2013 Campaign. I am obsessed with this denim cape for many reasons, the first being that the front is cropped above my belly button. Segunda, tiene un capucha ENORME, que te tapa muy bien! Even if I am wearing a big messy bun, this hood covers me! Y por su puesto, me encanta el tribal design.

If you are interested in one of Monica Bandala‘s designs from Frida’s Last Folk, you can email her: monicabandalaATgmail(dot)com

Frida’s Last Folk: Tribal Print Peplum Top and High-Waisted Shorts

Last week I showed you the first outfit (Aztec print poncho and bleached jeans) from Frida’s Last Folk, the Spring/Summer 2013 Collection by Mexican designer, Monica Bandala here. Today, I am presenting the second outfit from  Frida’s Last Folk, which consists of a handmade denim and leather peplum top with Aztec print details, and a beautiful pair of high-waisted denim shorts, that have the same leather and Aztec print details as the peplum top.
Did I mention that Monica Bandala’s pieces are designed and sewn by her, pretty rad right! 🙂

Frida’s Last Folk by Monica Bandala: Tribal Print Poncho and Acid Wash Jeans

[Above: Nina and Designer Monica Bandala]
Last week I gave you a sneak peek to Frida’s Last Folk, a photoshoot I had the pleasure of participating in for Mexican designer, Monica Bandala.

I am so excited to present the first set of photos from Frida’s Last Folk.
Monica Bandala designed and handmade the jeans and Aztec print poncho. If you look closely, you will notice that besides being bleached, the jeans also have an Aztec print. The beautiful Aztec print poncho is perfect for spring, very light and fresh. I mentioned in this post, that Frida’s Last Folk was inspired by the Mexican Icon, Frida Kahlo, and the Aztec print poncho was inspired by Frida’s outfit pictured bottom right.

Frida’s Last Folk, a sneak peek!

I am so excited to share with you this sneak peek of Frida’s Last Folk. While we were in Guadalajara, I did a photoshoot for Monica Bandala‘s Spring Summer 2013 Collection. Frida’s Last Folk consists of seven exquisitely hand made pieces by Monica Bandala: a dress, peplum top, jeans, denim shorts and capes.

Frida’s Last Folk is inspired by Mexico’s iconic Frida Kahlo; her life, love and passion for art and Mexico. Some pieces, like the dress for example, also reflect Frida‘s unfortunate pain and suffering. Pretty beautiful, right?

I can’t wait to share the rest of the photos from Frida’s Last Folk with you in the upcoming days! Hope you have a wonderful weekend surrounded by love, laughter and peace.
