Trolls Melted Crayon Pumpkin DIY

Growing up, I was obsessed with TROLLS. So, when I heard Dreamworks was making an animated movie featuring the voices of Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake, I was pretty excited to see some of my childhood friends come to life. Everyone who knows TROLLS, knows that one of their main characteristics is their fun, vibrant coloured hair!

With #NationalColorDay right around the corner, on October 22nd, we decided to celebrate and create TROLLS melted crayon art on one of our pumpkins; combining our love for TROLLS, colour and Halloween. Check out our easy, TROLLS melted crayon Pumpkin DIY below, and join in on the fun by creating your own colourful TROLLS masterpiece, and make sure to submit your art by tagging and using hashtags (#TrollsTuedsay #NationalColorDay #DreamWorksTrolls) for a chance to win promotional items from the film, and a $25 gift card.

Before starting this DIY, I recommend covering your floor or table with something, like newspaper so that the melting wax doesn’t get all over it. I used a recycled paper bag. Also, if your child is doing this with you, make sure you supervise glue gun and blow dryer, as they can get MUY CALIENTE!

Step 1: remove the paper from crayons

Step 2: remove the pumpkin’s stem (aka “the handle”).

Step 3: collect your favourite coloured crayons, and tie them together with an elastic band

Step 4: put a big “blob” of hot glue where the handle used to be (top).

Step 5: place the crayons ontop of the hot glue and let dry.

Step 6: turn blow dryer on, and watch your crayons melt, creating a beautiful masterpiece below. Make sure to leave a little bit of your “crayon stem” as it resembles the TROLLS colourful hair.
